Wales vs Croatia
Competition – Euro 2020 Qualifying
Stadium – Cardiff City Stadium
Date: 13th October 2019
Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT
Wales drew their last qualifying game against Slovakia and while that wasn’t particularly a bad result, it is also not the best result for a team actively pursuing a place in the next Euros and that has made this game a must-win for them.
The Welsh side have an abundance of talent in this generation of players yet former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs has failed to get them firing and they come here 3 points short of a top two spot.
Hungary who are 3rd have an easier game and are expected to win means that a slip up for Giggs’ side could spell the end to their campaign.
A lot was expected from Wales after their impressive showing at Euro 2016 but they have struggled under their current boss and come here with just two wins from six games. They have won their last four home games and their fans would be hoping they can get another one in this game.
Croatia are currently top of this group and are on course to qualify for the next Euros. They have a 4 points lead over 3rd placed Hungary and a win here would make it more difficult for them not to be at the Euros.
Wales have been solid at the back and their last four home wins have been under 2.5 goals so they will be keen to replicate that here and it will be interesting to see if Croatia can break their resistance.
