Manchester City vs Atalanta Preview

Manchester City will continue their quest to win the Champions League when they host Atalanta in this game while the Italians will be looking to throw spanner into the plans of Pep Guardiola’s side.

City come into this game after a hard fought 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend but Pep can be happy as he didn’t have to use the likes of Sergio Aguero and Riyad Mahrez in that game and can have them fresh for this one if he needs them.

City come here 6 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League but there is a feeling that their focus this season is winning the Champions League which they have started well.

They have secured back-to-back wins and another victory here would put them on the verge of qualifying for the Round of 16.

Atalanta were a brilliant attacking outfit last season as they finished their season 3rd in the Serie A table.  They have however struggled to replicate that form this season and come into this game having lost their first two group games.

They remain one of the best attacking teams in the World and reminded everyone of that at the weekend when they drew 3-3 against SS Lazio.

This game looks most likely to be a thrilling contest with both sides having a go at each other but Manchester City are heavily favoured with bookmakers to take the points.
