Celtic vs Lazio Preview

Celtic fans would have been disappointed that they didn’t make the Champions League group stage this season, however, their team’s performances in Europe’s second top competition this season hasn’t been so disappointing.

The Celts have made a fine start to the competition after winning one and drawing one of their opening two group games to stay first in their group.

They come into this game one point clear at the top and know that another good result here would push them closer to the next round of the competition.

Lazio may seem like a big team for Celtic to face in this game but the Italians haven’t been at their best this season and look to be there for the taking.

They managed to beat Rennes in their last game at home but needed a second-half fightback to achieve that.  That result came after they had lost their opening group game to CFR Cluj.

The Italians have won 3 and lost 3 of their last 9 competitive games and their form on the road in Europe leaves a lot to be desired.

Lazio has lost 7 of their last 9 away games in Europe while Celtic on the other hand are unbeaten in their last 6 home games and have won 6 of their last 8 home games in this competition.
