Chelsea vs Ajax Amsterdam Preview

Chelsea will be looking to continue their fine run of form when they take on Ajax in this game.

The Blues won the reverse of this fixture at the Amsterdam Arena 0-1 – a result that underlined their quality and they will be looking to prove those who feel that was a one-off wrong with yet another win here.

Ajax were the darling of most soccer fans last season as they reached the semifinals of the Champions League with a sweet attacking brand of football.

They have lost some of their players from last season but remain an exciting team to watch and they will be looking to get revenge over the Blues here.

Chelsea defeated Watford 2-1 at the weekend to continue their run of 8 wins in 9 games.  They have won two Champions League games in that period of time and they will be looking for a 3rd consecutive win here.

Ajax are also in a fine run of form.  Their loss to Chelsea last time out was their first loss in over 18 games.  They remain in the hunt for another Dutch league title and won their last away game in the Champions League against Valencia.

Both of these sides have been some of Europe’s top scorers and it was surprising that a single goal separated them in the last game so it’s difficult to predict what will happen here.
