Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund Preview

Bayern Munich will be looking to get back to form when they take on rivals Borussia Dortmund in this season’s first Der Klassiker while Borussia Dortmund will be looking to build on their recent run of form against their great rivals.

Bayern returned to winning ways in the Champions League in midweek after they were beaten 5-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.  That defeat was so bad that the club fired Niko Kovac.

While they are still looking for a new manager, they would be keen to build on their recent good run of form against this Dortmund side.

Borussia Dortmund came from two goals down to beat Inter Milan 3-2 in midweek.  That win came after they had successfully become the first team to beat Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga this season.

BVB has also impressively beaten league leaders Borussia Monchengladbach twice already this season and they would be looking to avoid their second loss of the season here.

Bayern Munich will be without Lucas Hernandez, Niklas Sule and Jerome Boateng for this one while Borussia Dortmund will have to play this game without the services of Marco Reus and Marcel Schmelzer.

The last two times that Dortmund has visited Bavaria, they conceded 11 goals and scored none in a 5-0 and 6-0 loss so they would be keen to avoid such an embarrassment here.
