Germany vs Northern Ireland Competition – Euro 2020 Qualifying Stadium – Commerzbank-Arena Date: 19th November 2019 Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT
Northern Ireland saw their hopes of automatic qualification end when they played a goalless draw at home against the Netherlands and Michael O’neil’s side will look to end this series and prepare for the playoffs now. Germany has topped this group having claimed 18 points so far. Germany lost just one game and that was against the Netherlands and it is hard to see the Northern Irish men inflicting a second defeat on them in this game. Germany have been heavy scorers too as they have netted 24 times so far and come here off the back of scoring 7 goals in two games against Estonia and Belarus. Northern Ireland did their bit by winning against the other teams in the group but they struggled to beat Germany and the Netherlands to remain with just 13 points heading into this final game. One thing that Northern Ireland has going for them is a solid defence and they should be happy to frustrate Germany’s efforts to top this group in this game. The Germans won the reverse fixture 0-2 but they were made to work very hard for that win which could also be the case here.
