West Ham United vs Arsenal Preview

Arsenal head to West Ham looking for their first win in ten games as well as their first win under Freddie Ljungberg.

Ljungberg is still dealing with the rot of the Unai Emery regime and their 2-1 loss against Brighton last time out shows that there is so much work to be done at Arsenal.

Both of these teams are on a dreadful run of form.  West Ham have won just one of their last ten games in all competitions, while Arsenal have no wins in their last nine competitive games.

The Hammers are also struggling at home as they haven’t won any of their last four league games at the Olympic Stadium.

Arsenal are one of the league’s worst travellers.  The Gunners have won just one league game away from home and they come into this game with no wins from their last six away games, three of which have been losses for them.

Arsenal’s 1-0 loss at West Ham earlier in the year was the first time they have lost in their last five travels there however, they have won just two of those games.

Overall, Arsenal have won three and lost one of their last five head-to-head meetings with West Ham, although all of those wins came at the Emirates Stadium.

A defeat for West Ham could push them into the relegation zone, while a win for the Hammers will push Arsenal further away from the top four.
