VfL Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund Preview

Borussia Dortmund will continue keeping pace with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table when they visit Wolfsburg this weekend.

The host will be looking to stop Dortmund’s charge but that would be easier said than done and Lucien Favre’s men seem to have found the winning formula needed to sustain a title charge.

Wolfsburg’s European dreams should also not be written off as they restarted their campaign with a 2-1 win at Augsburg to keep their hopes of European qualification alive.

That was their first win in four games but as it came immediately after the restart, it could signal how they intend to finish the season.

Dortmund also restarted with a win of their own as they beat Schalke 04 4-0 at home – that win has kept them within touching distance of Bayern Munich who are leading the league table by four points.

Dortmund has won all five of their last five league games and they have a fine record against this host.

Favre’s side has won four and lost none of their last five head-to-head meetings with Wolfsburg and they will be looking to build on that ahead of their showdown with champions Bayern Munich next week.
