The Spanish league season continues with Villarreal hosting Sevilla in this league game with the host looking to build on their impressive return to football.
Villarreal has won their first two games back from the coronavirus-enforced break against Celta Vigo and Mallorca where both matches ended in 1-0 wins for them.
Sevilla is also unbeaten since the restart with Julen Lopetegui’s side winning one and drawing the other of their two games back from suspension.
Sevilla is the in-form team ahead of this match as they haven’t lost any of their last eight games in all competitions.
Sevilla is actively chasing a return to Champions League football and they come into this game 3rd in the league table. Just two points separate them from the chasing pack so they have to win this game in order to keep their advantage.
Villarreal is also targeting a return to Europe next season and they are currently 7th in the league table with just five points separating them from the last Champions League spot.
Both of these teams need a win in this game and it will be interesting to see who gets the points after 90 minutes. One thing is for sure, Villarreal’s new-found strength at the back will be put to serious test in this game.
