Atletico Madrid will look to continue their fine run of form that has seen them successfully make a late charge into the top three of the La Liga table.
Diego Simeone’s men held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw in their last league game to throw a spanner into Barcelona’s bid to land the league title this season.
The home side seems to have benefited from the suspension of football because they have returned from the break as one of the best sides in the league.
They have played six games since the restart and they have lost none, winning four and they will look to add struggling Mallorca to the list of teams that they have beaten when they host them in this game.
Mallorca earned a surprise 5-1 win over Celta Vigo in their last league game and that was a much-needed win in their fight to beat the drop.
They have however, lost four and drawn one of their six games since the restart and this looks another certain loss for them on paper.
Most of their past meetings have been relatively close while Atletico Madrid won the reverse of this fixture last year.
Mallorca are 18th in the league table, five points from safety and they cannot afford to lose this game.
