Sony; the company behInd the popular PlaystatIon 3 console, has cut the prIces of the console across IndIa. ThIs Is somethIng that most analysts expected from Sony very soon as they have recently been re-prIcIng the console In varIous parts of the world.
Sony has already cut the prIce of the PlaystatIon 3 In the US, Europe and Japan on Wednesday of thIs week and today, they have followed these prIce cuts up wIth the prIce cuts for the console In IndIa. FollowIng these cuts, It Is saId that the 160GB versIon of the PlaystatIon 3 wIll now cost Rs. 16,990 In IndIa, whIch Is a prIce drop of more than Rs. 3,000. As well as thIs, the PlaystatIon Move Starter Pack Bundle has also seen a prIce drop of around Rs. 2,500 today as well as Sony competes wIth the competItIon.
It Is thought that the maIn reason for the prIce drop of the PlaystatIon 3 by Sony thIs week Is due to the recent prIce drop by NIntendo of theIr 3DS console. The gamIng world Is extremely competItIve and the 3DS has been dropped by almost 25 percent by NIntendo thIs week. The prIce drop by Sony makes the PlaystatIon 3 much more affordable when compared wIth the lIkes of the Xbox 360 In IndIa whIch Is now actually more expensIve than the PS3.
It Is expected that MIcrosoft wIll drop theIr prIces for the Xbox 360 wIthIn the next couple of weeks to compete wIth Sony and NIntendo.
