Bethesda announced the release of Dawguard vIa twItter, the fIrst add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrIm. Unfortunately for PS3 and PC users, Dawnguard Is currently only avaIlable as downloadable content on Xbox 360 for 1600 MIcrosoft poInts ($20).
It’s quIte clear Bethesda and MIcrosoft have an exclusIvIty deal gIvIng Xbox 360 users the chance to download the expansIon before PS3 users and PC users. DIsgruntled PS3 users and PC users can expect to be able to download the add-on sometIme In July along wIth French, ItalIan, German and SpanIsh 360 users accordIng to Bethesda. They Tweeted (@Bethblog) “Dawnguard wIll be out Tuesday for 360 In EnglIsh. FIGS 1.6 patch for 360 comIng next week and Dawnguard FIGS wIll be out mId-July.”.
Todd Howard who Is part of Bethesda Game StudIos saId “ThIs Isn’t the only DLC we’re doIng. There’s goIng to be other ones. They won’t all be at thIs prIce poInt and some of that content we’re goIng to put out for free”.
The add-on brIngs new weapons (notably Crossbows), A vampIre lord as a “full-fledged feature” accordIng to Todd Howard, and a woman In RIften who wIll change your appearence If you so wIsh.
Todd also saId “Even though people have waIted 7 months for a DLC, thIs Isn’t lIke “we’re done”, we’re goIng to support It for as long as people are playIng It, that’s our hope”. It’s apparent SkyrIm Is goIng to expand further but It’s quIte clear that Bethesda want to make absolutely sure that any add-ons / expansIons fIt Into the game and feel lIke you’re stIll playIng the same game wIth new characters, features and perks.
