Brest vs PSG Match Preview – France Ligue 1

Paris Saint Germain travel to the Stade Francis-Le Ble this Friday to face Brest with a chance to extend their lead at the top of France Ligue 1 to three points over challengers Lyon and Marseille.  They arrive in blistering form having won 5 of their last 7 matches beating Lyon 1-0 along the way.  Brest have been doing well recently, they have won 2 two of their last 7 games, drawn 2 and lost 3; two of the losses coming against in-form Marseille and Montpellier.

While PSG enjoy top spot of the league, Brest are in the bottom half of the table just 5 points from the relegation zone.  A win for brest will move them up to 12th,  just 6 points from the playoff positions however this is a game they will be looking for a solid performance and if they can grab a point they will be very happy to finish their last game of 2012 with a draw against the league leaders.

Brest are facing a team that have the highest number of goals so far this season (PSG – 33) and also a team who have the best defensive record by some margin in France Ligue 1 (Conceded 12 goals in 18 matches).  Brest’s main issue is that they have neither an excellent scoring record or a good defensive record so the real question is how are they going to cope with PSG?

Both teams have played 4 times in recent years, PSG have won 3 and 1 game was a draw.

Current betting odds – Brest (6/1) Draw (3/1) PSG (1/2)

Gamingtips prediction – Brest 0:2 PSG

Although Brest faired well against Montpellier, this game represents a different challenge in a team that have a superb balance of attack and defense and this can only mean a win for PSG on Friday.
