2013 PDC World Championship Darts – Round 3 Betting Preview

The final matches of round 3 take place Thursday 27th December 2012 and the winners will head straight through to the Quarter finals. Afternoon matches are evening matches are divided below including the current betting odds from .

Afternoon session:

Wes Newton (1/3) vs Mark Walsh (12/5)

Wes Newton looked very good in his last round match against confident Scott Rand; He defeated him 4:-0.  Mark Walsh defeated Justin Pipe 4-2.

Gamingtips Prediction – Wes Newton WIN

Simon Whitlock (8/15) vs Dave Chisnall (6/4)

Simon Whitlock has said he is ready to win the World Championships however Dave Chisnall is able to score as heavily on his day and this match may go all the way.  Chisnall has had a lucky draw so far and Whitlock will be his first major test of the tournament.

Gamingtips Prediction – Simon Whitlock WIN

James Wade (2/7) vs Vincent Van Der Voort (11/4)

Vincent van der Voort was lucky to be a part of the stunning 9 dart finish by Dean Winstanley in the second round and he faces one of the best on his day in James Wade.  James Wade is definitely the more consistent player on his day however he has a potential hazard in by the way he can sometimes fall to pieces midway through a match.

Gamingtips Prediction – Although James Wade is the better play on his day, 11/4 about Vincent Van Der Voort represents value and you will certainly get a run for your money.

Evening Session:

Michael Van Gerwen (1/9) vs Colin Lloyd (11/2)

This match sees one of the most exciting players in Michael Van Gerwen take on Colin Lloyd.  Michael Van Gerwen admitted he was stunned at going 2-0 down against Peter Wright in the second round however he showed that he has a “never give up” attitude and was able to win 4-2 in the end.

Gamingtips Prediction – Michael Van Gerwen WIN – Unless Van Gerwen has a very bad day, we should see him progress to the quarter finals however 1/9 isn’t a price worth taking.

Gary Anderson (6/5) vs Raymond Van Barneveld (4/6)

This match has all the makings of the match of the day.  Gary Anderson is one of the best players in the world on his day when he can hit doubles.  He can out score anyone but occasionally he will let the board get into his head.  Gary Anderson was fortunate to progress to round 3; he defeated John Bowles in the second round after Bowles missed multiple match points.  “Barney” on the other hand is coming into form and looks like the Barney of old – High scoring, excellent finishing and a fighting spirit.

Gamingtips Prediction – Gary Anderson WIN.   This could very well be as close as flipping a coin but with Anderson just scraping through, he may come out with a “nothing to lose” attitude and when he plays like that, he can dominate almost any player in the world.  6/5 is a very reasonable price.

Adrien Lewis (8/15) vs Kevin Painter (6/4)

Another intriguing match.  Adrien Lewis is a Champion and on his day he can beat any player in the world however he has a habit of “falling asleep” during his matches and sometimes this causes a fight in a match which doesn’t need to happen.  Kevin Painter on the other hand is a fighter, he will give 100% right up until the very last dart is thrown and so this makes this match an interesting betting prospect.

Gamingtips Prediction – Adrien Lewis WIN – Although Adrien Lewis can sometimes create his own problems during games, he has enough scoring power and enough experience to defeat Kevin Painter.
