Arsenal vs Swansea Match Preview – FA Cup

Arsenal take on Swansea on Wednesday in the FA cup for their third round replay match after the first match ended 2:2 at the Liberty Stadium just ten days ago.  Swansea scored a late equalizer to force a replay and keep them in the competition.  If this match ends in a draw, the game will go to extra time and possibly penalties if there is no winner after 120 minutes.  The winning team will face Brighton in the fourth round which represents a difficult match given Brighton’s current run of form.

Swansea are unbeaten in 7 matches (D W D D W D D)

Arsenal’s form reads (L D D W W W L)

FA Cup games sometimes allow managers to rest key players so there is no concrete team news yet.  We know that Lauren Koscielny will not be playing after being sent off against Manchester City on Sunday along with Mikel Arteta who is struggling with a calf problem.

This match has all the makings of a high scoring FA cup game; both teams have conceded two or more goals in three of their last five matches and scored 15 goals between them in five games.

Recent history sides slightly with Swansea (Swansea 2 wins, Arsenal 1 win, Draw 1)

Current betting odds –  Arsenal (4/7) Draw (7/2) Swansea (5/1)

Gamingtips Prediction – Arsenal 3:3 Swansea

From a betting perspective, this match is difficult to find anything worthwhile – Swansea are definitely overpriced at around 5/1 however it’s difficult to see them outscore Arsenal.  Over 4.5 goals at odds of 3/1 seems the most reasonable bet for this match given the amount of chances both teams will create and with Arsenal, they have the ability to score 5 or more goals which they proved against Newcastle before Christmas.
