Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona Preview

This game will be the biggest test to Barcelona’s title ambitions so far this season and we expect them to face a tough task if they are to eventually leave the Wanda Metropolitano with a win.

Atletico Madrid will be looking to end Barcelona’s 100% record this season but they have to do what they have failed to do over the past 7 years – beat Barcelona.

The last time they won a match against Barcelona was back in February 2010.   Since that time, they have managed just 3 draws and lost on 11 occasions.

At home they have just one draw to show for the last seven visits of the table toppers although they will feel it’s a different scenario now that they have moved to a new stadium.

Barcelona are understandably favourites for this clash when one considers their past record against their hosts but they are always going to be close to losing a game as teams plot to thwart their unbeaten start to the new season.

They are currently top of the league with seven wins from seven league games and are ahead of their hosts by six points after the Diego Simeone boys drew a blank in their last match against Leganes.

Barcelona recorded a 3-0 win in their last outing despite having to play behind closed doors and we expect them to take this game more serious than their previous games as Atletico Madrid are also yet to lose in La Liga this season and have won their both of their home games so far.
