Chelsea will be looking to consolidate their position inside the top four as well as build on their recent two match winning streak when the take on Southampton in this game.

The Blues ended 2018 5 points clear of Arsenal and come into this game in fine form.

They won their last two league games away from home against Watford and Crystal Palace and come into this game on a run of 5 consecutive clean sheets at home.

Southampton started the reign of Ralph Hasenhuttl in great fashion after picking up wins over Arsenal and Huddersfield Town however their honeymoon did not last long as they have since gone on to lose two straight games against West Ham and Manchester City.

Their major problem seems to be at the back as they keep letting in all kinds of goals and if they fail to tighten things up at the back for this game, they may leave here with no points again.

Chelsea have won their last three games against the Saints – the last of which was a 3-0 win at Saint Marys three months ago.

Bookmakers have priced Chelsea up as odds-on favourites to come out on top in this tie.

Goal markets suggest this will be a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Eden Hazard is clear favourite to score the first goal.
