Arsenal vs Fulham Preview

Arsenal vs Fulham

Competition – Barclays Premier League

Stadium – Emirates Stadium

Date: 1st January 2019

Kick-off time – 15:00 GMT

Arsenal host Fulham in this London derby as they look to get back to winning ways after being thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool in their last league game, while Fulham who recorded a 1-0 win at the weekend will be looking to get another here as they battle to avoid relegation.

Arsenal’s bid to finish this season inside the top four suffered a major blow last weekend when they were annihilated 5-1 by Liverpool at Anfield.

Their collapse came as a shocker to many observers who thought that Unai Emery had steadied the Arsenal ship.

With performances like that, it is hard to imagine them finishing inside the top four come May.

The Gunners come into this game having won only one of their last four Premier League games and that run of form has placed them 5 points off the top four and just 3 points above Manchester United.

Fulham have been gaining some momentum in their bid to avoid relegation this season and Claudio Ranieri takes his team to this game looking to build on their 1-0 win over Huddersfield in their last league game.

That was their first win since they defeated Southampton in November.

It was also the second clean sheet in 3 games for the league’s most porous defence, so their fans should feel positive heading into this game.

Bookmakers have priced Arsenal up as very short-priced favourites to come out on top in this tie.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is clear favourite with bookies to score the first goal while over 2.5 goals is currently trading long odds-on so expect an extremely lively affair.
