Southampton vs Manchester City Preview

Manchester City are in the midst of their first real bad spell in a very long time and their fans will be hoping that this is the game that they finally turn things around.

The Cityzens have lost their last two league games against Crystal Palace and Leicester City despite taking the lead in those games.

Those results have seen them fall 7 points behind league leaders Liverpool and the Reds will be visiting Manchester after this game.

Pep Guardiola’s side look short of confidence at the moment and more dropped points here would mean that Liverpool could open at least a 9 points gap on them which would take a lot of work to close down.

Southampton named Ralph Hasenhüttl as their manager some three games ago and the Austrian has gotten his reign off to a bright start.

They beat Arsenal in his second game in charge and secured yet another win against Huddersfield in his 3rd game.

That gave the Saints 2 wins from 3 games, one more than they had managed all season.

However, they were beaten 2-1 at home by West Ham who have the brilliance of Felipe Anderson to thank, and they will be looking to get back to winning ways here.

This is a game between two attacking managers and Southampton may take the game to City and rattle the defending champions yet again.

Manchester City are currently trading strongly odd-on to get back to winning ways here while Sergio Aguero is favourite to score the first goal.
