Valencia vs Villarreal Preview

Valencia vs Villarreal

Competition – Spanish Primera

Stadium – Estadio Mestalla

Date: 26th January 2019

Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT

Valencia will be looking to get back to form in this game after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Getafe in the Copa del Rey last time out.

That defeat ended a run of three games without a defeat for Los Che and their fans will be hoping that they can get back among the goals in this game.

Valencia are looking to catch up with the division’s top six and they know that only a win in this game would help them keep up the pace so they might take advantage of this struggling Villarreal side to get up the league table.

Villarreal have been showing their tough side in their most recent games, but they have still failed to secure a win since they beat Spartak Moscow 2-0 in the Europa League in mid-December.

The Yellow Submarines have collected just 18 points from 20 games this season and on current form, they don’t look close to reaching the European spot that they finished in last season.

They fired their manager recently, but it is still the same old story as they needed a late equalizer from Toko Ekambi to get a home draw against Athletic Bilbao in their last game.

The Yellow Submarines seem to up their game when they face Valencia as they have two wins and a draw from their last three head to head clashes.

Bookmakers have priced Valencia up as slight odds-on favourites to come out on top.

Goal markets are undecided as to whether or not we will see goals while Kevin Gameiro is clear favourite with bookies to score the opening goal of the game.
