Sevilla FC vs Valencia Preview

Sevilla FC vs Valencia

Competition – Spanish Primera

Stadium – Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

Date: 31st March 2019

Kick-off time – 15:15 GMT

These two sides will continue their bid to finish inside the La Liga top four when they take on each other here.

Sevilla started the season strongly and they were even considered outsiders for the title for much of the first half of the season.

They have however dropped down the table and are currently 6th in the league table after collecting just 43 points.

There are just three points between them and Getafe who are occupying the final Champions League spot.

Sevilla are also just 3 points above their visitors so their immediate aim would be to win this game and extend their lead over Valencia to six points.

Sevilla have been very inconsistent lately.  They have won just three of their last 8 games in all competitions.

Valencia started their season poorly, but they have built some momentum towards the end of the season.

Valencia are unbeaten in their last 15 matches and they have played league leaders, Barcelona in this period of time.

Other impressive results have been wins over Celtic home and away in the Europa League and the 3-1 thrashing of Getafe in the Copa del Rey.

With this momentum they could end the season inside the top four which is exactly what they achieved last season.  Their goalless draw against Getafe last time out shows how resilient they can be and fans should expect them not to be broken down easily here.

Bookmakers have priced Sevilla up as steady favourites to come out on top in this game while goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on despite the high stakes for both sides.

Wissam Ben Yedder is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.

This game gets underway at 15:15 BST.
