Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur
Competition – Barclays Premier League
Stadium – Anfield
Date: 31st March 2019
Kick-off time – 16:30 GMT
Liverpool have a chance to remain top of the Premier League table by Monday but they have to win this game.
The Reds have been boosted by the return from injury of Joe Gomez and Naby Keita and they now have a stronger squad for the run-in.
The last time these two met at Anfield it ended 2-2 after Tottenham had been awarded a soft penalty which Harry Kane converted.
Mohamed Salah scored both of Liverpool’s goals that day with the second goal worthy of being a winner, however, the Egyptian is not in good form at the moment.
Sadio Mane is in form and he has proven that he can score the goals the Reds need to compete for the Premier League and the Champions League.
Liverpool still haven’t lost more than a single game this season and Spurs would be aiming to change that.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been overachieving for some time now. They didn’t spend a dime in the transfer market last summer yet they are 3rd in the league table and are in the Champions League quarterfinals.
A recent run of poor form has ruled them out of the running for the league title but they do have a fight on their hands to retain their top four place.
They are currently just one point above Arsenal, so a defeat or draw here and a win for the Gunners would push them outside the top three for the first time in a long time.
Bookmakers have priced Liverpool up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top which may be a surprise to some punters and push them towards backing Tottenham at attractive odds.
Goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Mohamed Salah is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
