Barcelona vs Real Betis Preview

Barcelona will be looking for their first league win of the season when they welcome Real Betis to the Camp Nou.  The Spanish champions struggled in their first league game of the season against Athletic Bilbao, ultimately losing the game 1-0.

There has been all sorts of off-field problems for the Blaugranas recently and they need a solid performance in this game to take the attention of the World back to what they can do on the field.

The signing of Antoine Griezmann is expected to reduce their reliance on Lionel Messi, but the French man’s performance in their first league game of the season leaves a lot to be desired and fans will be expecting a better showing from him here.

Real Betis lost their opening game of the season at home to Real Valladolid and they will be looking to get their first win here at the expense of an underperforming Barcelona side.

That loss was their 3rd loss in their last five games and shows that they are currently struggling for form.  They also don’t have the best of records against Barcelona however they did beat Barcelona on their last visit to this ground so they will be looking at that game to draw inspiration for another unlikely win.

Bookmakers have priced Barcelona up as extremely strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while Real Betis seemingly need a miracle according to oddsmakers.

Goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on prior to kick-off while Lionel Messi is expected to return and he is currently clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
