Juventus vs Napoli Preview

Two of Italy’s biggest teams go head to head in what should be an early show of title credentials by them.  Napoli have been the closest team to Juventus over the past few seasons in Italy and with a new manager at the helm in Turin, Carlo Ancelotti would feel now is the time for him to win another league title.

Juve fired the hugely successful yet underrated Max Allegri last summer and replaced him with Europa League winner, Maurizio Sarri.

It seems the Italian champions are looking to move past their safety-first approach to the game and play the more exciting Sarri-ball which hasn’t won anything in Italy yet.  This is a gamble for such a big club and the Old Ladies believe it will pay off however we will probably know more after this game.

Napoli have been making some interesting signings while keeping hold of their star men including the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne.  The addition of Hirving Lozano to an already solid attack should help them finally wrestle the title away from Juve.

Ancelotti  has carried on from the good work of Sarri and he will be keen to show their former manager that he has really improved the side.

Both of these sides won their opening game of the season while Juventus won both games when they both met last season.  Napoli would be keen to repeat their stunning 0-1 win in this stadium at the back end of the 2017/2018 season under Sarri.

Bookmakers have priced Juventus up as very slight odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while Napoli are priced up competitively to cause an upset.

Goal markets point to a tight game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on prior to kick-off while Cristiano Ronaldo is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
