Barcelona will be hosting Villarreal looking to get just their third win of the new season as pressure continues to mount on Ernesto Valverde.
The Blaugranas started the season with high hopes of winning both the La Liga title and the Champions League after landing the likes of Frenkie de Jong, and Antoine Griezmann.
However this season has been anything but an ideal one so far. Lionel Messi has returned and started on the bench in two straight games but they still failed to win both games. This game is a must-win for them if they want to keep up with the league’s early pace-setters.
Barca has been scoring goals at home, netting ten in their last two home league games and conceding 4 times in return – their fans will be expecting another home win here.
Villarreal has been scoring lots of goals this season as well and they come here confident that they can outscore Barcelona. They are currently 7th in the league table, one point above Barca.
The visitors are unbeaten in their last 3 league games and come to Camp Nou off the back of consecutive wins. They have also kept a clean sheet in each of those wins.
