Apoel Nicosia meet FC Midtjylland at the GSP Stadium this Tuesday evening in the second leg of their 3rd round qualifying tie in the Champions League

FC Midtjylland were odds-on favourites to win the first leg at home however Apoel Nicosia were 2:0 up within a spell of 5 minutes (30-35 minutes) – a late goal by Jakob Poulsen gave Midtjylland hope coming into this second leg.

Midtjylland come into this tie off the back of a 1:0 win in the Danish Super League over Odense.

Apoel Nicosia’s domestic season is not underway and they have had a full week to prepare for the second leg.

Bookmakers make Apoel Nicosia favourites to come out on top in the second leg – they currently price the Cypriot team at EVENS while FC Midtjylland are currently priced at 14/5 and the draw is currently trading at odds of 23/10

Ultimately this is a very close tie on paper – Midtjylland  were unfortunate in the first leg conceding an own goal and three minutes later they were 2:0 behind in a game where they were fancied to come out on top.

A solid defensive performance can see Midtjylland win this game of football however in order to qualify they must score at least 2 goals – a 2:1 will force extra-time so they if they have a 1 goal lead early, they can afford to plan their attacks in search of an all important second goal.

Apoel Nicosia may not have expected to be ahead in this tie and home advantage is a huge advantage for them.  A solid performance defensively will see them through and if they are able to score a couple of goals, Midtjylland  will find it very difficult to come back.

This match gets underway at 18:00 and is being streamed live at .
