Borussia Dortmund started the season well setting a Bundesliga record on the way as they kept 5 clean sheets in their first 5 games of the season but they have been dismal over the past month and have lost some hotly contested games that shows they might not be ready to win the league just yet.
They lost to RB Leipzig (3-2), Hannover 96 (4-2) and drew at Eintracht Frankfurt in the league and they also failed to beat APOEL twice in Europe (1-1 draw in each match) and while their recent result shows their defence is weak, the efforts they are making on the offence is obviously not been converted into goals for them as they created 30 chances in their last game yet they managed to score just one.
They should be scoring goals and it is only a matter of time before they will with the likes of last season’s top scorer Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in their team.
Bayern Munich started the season poorly but after Carlo Ancelloti was booted out and Jupp Heynckes was brought back in, there has been a positive turn of results for the Bavarians.
Having won the treble for them in his last time in charge, he seems to have refound the magic touch as he has brought the winning formula straight back into the team with them winning all six matches that he has been in charge so far.
Their attacking trio of Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandoski and James Rodriguez is good enough to trouble any defence in the World and with the top of the league table at stake in this game, Bayern Munich will likely put more effort than they have in recent games to try and get the win.
