Last week’s shocking loss to bottom of the table Cologne was the first time RB Leipzig lost back to back Bundesliga games since early last year and that has pushed them further down the table.
They still have a chance of finishing inside the top four as just one point separates them from 4th placed Eintracht Frankfurt.
They also welcome back Naby Keita for this game as he has returned to full time training.
This year, they have been hot and cold with just 10 points from 7 league games having won 3 and lost 3 of those matches.
Leipzig have won 2 and lost 1 of their last 3 meetings with Dortmund.
Marco Reus’ return from his long term injury has been a welcome boost to Dortmund as the German has netted twice in his last three games since his return and netted their only goal in their 1-1 draw against Augsburg last time out.
That draw saw Peter Stoeger become the first Dortmund manager to go unbeaten in his first nine games (5 wins and 4 draws), and the Austrian would be looking to keep that record intact at the Red Bull Arena here.
Reus, Gotze and Schurrle have gelled well so far, and they would be expected to continue supporting Michy Batshuayi in attack in this game.
