AS Roma vs Liverpool Preview

Last week’s semifinal first leg was more than a thrilling game that had one of the most ridiculous results you will ever see in a Champions League semifinal game.

Liverpool surprisingly raced to a 5-0 lead despite AS Roma playing very well in the opening 25 minutes.

The Reds however, switched off in the final ten minutes to see the Romans score two late goals.

At 5-2, Roma can eliminate Jurgen klopp’s side by winning 3-0 – the same score line they defeated Barcelona in the last round.

The main question is can they stop Liverpool’s rampaging front three from scoring?

After their humiliating loss to Liverpool, AS Roma bounced back at the weekend by beating Chievo 4-1 to consolidate their position in the Italian top four.

Edin Dzeko scored a double which means he now has 16 goals in Serie A, plus seven in the Champions League.

Dzeko has also scored in his last four Champions League appearances, making him a good bet to score any time here.

Liverpool struggled at the weekend, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino on the pitch, they still drew goalless against a relegation threatened Stoke City.

They are unbeaten in 9 games and face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Liverpool have conceded in four of their last five away games, while AS Roma have won six of their last eight competitive home matches, scoring 18 goals.
