This game was destined to be the game that Barcelona avoids defeat and becomes the first team in Spanish football history in a 38 game season to go unbeaten.
Barce faltered against Levante in their last league game and ended the match down 5-4 ending their unbeaten run however they will still be able to celebrate a domestic double here regardless.
Barcelona seems to have entered their end of season mood already after travelling to South Africa in midweek with star man Lionel Messi despite the Argentine missing their last league game against Levante much to the dismay of their fans who clearly wanted them to go unbeaten this season.
Barcelona’s season has obviously been better than that of their visitors.
Sociedad had a poor showing in Europe and an even poorer season in the La Liga, but some late season form has helped them pick up some momentum and a point from this game could help them get into the top ten.
Philippe Coutinho has stepped up recently and his hattrick in their last game means he now has 6 goals from his last five games, and could be an anytime goalscorer in this game.
