Romania vs Chile Preview

Romania may have missed out on qualification for the World Cup, but they come into this game in relatively good form.

They recovered well from a loss to Holland to beat Israel away in March and followed that up with another win over Sweden.

These results would have boosted their confidence when they come up against a star-studded Chile team in this game.

Chile did a good job in getting over their World Cup disappointment by beating Sweden away from home.

However, they failed to sparkle yet again when they were held to a goalless draw by Denmark in their very next match.

They have been hot and cold recently and it will be interesting to see which Chile turns up for this game.

Romania have become a more offensive team recently with their impressive 2-0 win over Israel and even more impressively, their 1-0 win over deep-lying Sweden proves how far they have come offensively.  They would be hopeful of breaching this Chile team also.

Chile also beat Sweden before drawing with Denmark and in both games the South Americans showed some good attacking play that should help them breach this Romanian team that is not so solid in defence as they are on the attack.
