Saudi Arabia vs Egypt

Competition – FIFA World Cup

Stadium – Volgograd Arena

Date: 25th June 2018

Kick-off time – 15:00 GMT

This game is a battle of twice losers with just some bragging rights over their Arabic neighbours up for grabs as both teams have been eliminated already.

The Saudis came into this competition with high confidence having almost held Germany to a 1-1 draw in their last warm up game, however, that wasn’t to be as they were swept away 5-0 by Russia in their first group game.

Their performance improved for their second match against Uruguay, but a Luis Suarez goal was the difference and they would have had their bags packed by the time they play this game.

Egypt had little hope of progress once Mohamed Salah was injured in the Champions League final.

They struggled in their warm up games and with Salah missing their first game, they bravely fought off Uruguay but an 88 minute Jose Jimenez goal saw them lose that game.

Their second game should have been better with Mohamed Salah starting, but the domineering Russians had the cure for Salah and they reduced the Premier League top goal scorer to just one penalty goal in a 3-1 defeat for the Egyptians.

Their return to the World Cup after three decades will have a happy ending if they can secure the win here.
