Liverpool vs Borussia Dortmund Preview

Liverpool are planning a major assault on the Premier League and other major competitions this season judging by their activities in the transfer market.

The Reds signed Fabinho from AS Monaco less than two days after they were beaten in the Champions League final by Real Madrid and he has been joined by Xerdan Shaqiri, Naby Keita and Brazil’s Allisson has also just completed his move to Anfield for a record fee.  These are exciting times for the Reds.

Liverpool started their pre-season with a 7-0 win over Chester before beating Tranmere 3-2.

Their last preseason game was a little tougher than their previous one as they were held by Bury to a 0-0 draw.

This game is the start of serious preseason games and they will be looking to show their readiness for the new season before being joined by their World Cup colleagues.

Borussia Dortmund have also started their preseason already and they will be looking to beat their former manager when they face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in this game.

The Germans beat Manchester City in their first International Champions Cup match on Saturday morning.

The game ended in a 1-0 win for them thanks to a 28th minute penalty from Mario Gotze, but that was City’s first preseason game and they should expect to play a tougher and more prepared opponent in Liverpool in this match.

Dortmund have won their last two preseason games by 1-0 score lines.
