Liverpool suffered their first defeat in all competitions on Wednesday and it was at the hands of this Chelsea side, so Jurgen Klopp would be looking for a reaction from his boys when they visit the Blues in this game.
Chelsea started the season by winning their first 5 league games and 6 games in all competition, however, they were held by West Ham to a 0-0 draw in their last league game.
They responded well to that dropping of points to beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield on Wednesday and Maurizio Sarri would be hoping they can take that form to the Premier League and end Liverpool’s 100 percent start to the league season.
Eden Hazard whose contract runs out at the end of the 2019/2020 season is in the form of his life and there seems to be no match for him in finding the back of the net.
His goal against Liverpool was his was his 6th goal in all competitions already this season and he could be an anytime scorer here as well.
Liverpool made 8 changes to the team that beat Southampton 3-0 at the weekend when they faced Chelsea in midweek, and it was obvious that several of the players who were playing together for the first time were struggling in that game.
However, expect Jurgen Klopp to put his best men forward in this game as they look to continue their impressive start to the campaign.
The Reds have just 2 points more than Chelsea and Manchester City, so if they drop points here, they might end the weekend in 2nd position or lower depending on what happens in Manchester City’s game.
Chelsea have won three, drawn two, and lost one of their last six meetings with Liverpool, although four of the last seven league encounters between these sides have ended all square.
All four of these were 1-1 scorelines.
Interestingly, bookmakers have priced Liverpool up as early favourites to get a win at the Bridge however the odds are as close as it gets and Chelsea will no doubt have their supporters.
Goal markets suggest this could be an extremely lively affair as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on.
This game gets underway at 17:30 UK time.
