Barcelona vs Valencia Preview

Barcelona vs Valencia

Competition – Spanish Primera

Stadium – Estadio Camp Nou

Date: 2nd February 2019

Kick-off time – 17:30 GMT

Barcelona will be looking to build on their five points lead at the top of the La Liga table just days after they earned another impressive home win in the Copa del Rey.

The Blaugranas currently hold a 5 points lead at the top of the league table and they will be looking to extend that when they take to the field in this game however Valencia don’t come here in the worst of form and it will be interesting to see how the game plays out.

Barca’s 6-1 win over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey second leg was their 5th win in six games in all competitions.

They also come into this game in fine form at home as they have won 7 of their last 8 home games in all competitions.   Their 1-1 draw against Spurs in the Champions League was the only time they have failed to win at home in that period of time.

Valencia started their season poorly, but a recent run of some good results has helped them climb to 7th position in the league table.

They have a chance to move into 5th position if they can do the unthinkable of beating Barcelona here.

Valencia’s 3-1 win over Getafe last time was their 4th win in 6 games, and they have lost just one of those games.

Bookmakers have priced Barcelona up as very strong odds-on favourites.

Goal markets suggest this game will be high-scoring while Lionel Messi is favourite to open the scoring on the night.
