Villarreal vs Sevilla FC Preview

Villarreal vs Sevilla FC

Competition – Spanish Primera

Stadium – Estadio de la Cerámica

Date: 17th February 2019

Kick-off time – 17:30 GMT

Villarreal will be hosting Sevilla in this game as they continue their fight to avoid relegation.

The hosts have had a topsy-turvy season so far despite finishing their last campaign in a European place and also reaching the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Villarreal are currently 19th in the league table and only a series of wins from now on would be good enough to help them avoid the drop.

They come into this game with 1 win out of their last 11 games in all competitions and that came in the Europa League against a strong Sporting Lisbon team.

Their last four league games have ended in three draws and one loss, so it’s safe to say they have the form of a team that could be relegated.

Sevilla started this campaign in high spirits and were challengers for the league title for a long time, however, they have since lost momentum and come into this game just two points above Getafe who are 5th.

With Getafe in impressive form, if they lose this game they could start the new week outside the top four.

Their recent league form is not something to write home about as they have won just once in their last seven attempts.

The visitors take on Barcelona next in the league and they know they have to win this game to give themselves a chance of remaining in the top four after facing Barca.

This is one of the most competitive betting markets of the week as oddsmakers have priced Villarreal up as very slight favourites to come out on top.

A rush of cash could see Sevilla go off as favourites while goal markets suggest this game could see goals as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.

Miguel Andre Silva, Moreno Gerard and Wissam Ben Yedder are joint favourites to score the opening goal of the game.

This game gets underway at 17:30 BST.
