Barcelona vs Lyon

Competition – UEFA Champions League

Stadium – Camp Nou

Date: 13th March 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

Barcelona will be looking to use home advantage to get through with a win here, however, the goalless draw in the first leg means that this game is still open and eiter team can make progress to the last 8.

Lyon put in a defencive master-class to deny Barcelona the win in the first leg with their goal keeper making a series of saves to deny Messi and his teammates the win.

The Catalans have since picked up some form and come into this game having won their last 4 competitive games in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and conceding just 3.

Barca are also still looking to win a quadruple of trophies this season as well and they will be looking to get the win here but Lyon should come here confident of causing an upset.

Lyon did a good job in the first leg of this game but they have suffered from inconsistency this season and their form since that game attests to that.

They have played 4 matches since the first leg, won two, drew 1, and lost to AS Monaco.

At the weekend, they should have seen off Strasbourg after going 2-0 up, however, they allowed their opponents to score 2 goals in 2 minutes to turn it around surprisingly.

They cannot afford to lose concentration that way in this game or else they will be left licking their wounds by the end of the game.

Bookmakers have priced Barcelona up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game and progress to the final 8 of the UEFA Champions League.

Goal markets point a lively match as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Lionel Messi is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game followed by Luis Suarez, de Oliveira Malcom and Philippe Coutinho.

Lyon may sit back and try to counter Barcelona as they did not concede an away goal in Lyon and have an advantage in that sense.

This game gets underway at 20:00 BST and can be viewed like on BT Sport.
