France vs Iceland
Competition – Euro 2020 qualifying
Stadium – Stade de France
Date: 25th March 2019
Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT
France will be looking to reach the next Euros and they face a game Iceland side at the Stade de France.
Since winning the World Cup, Les Bleus failed to reach the playoffs of the Nations League and almost lost to Iceland in a friendly game at home in November.
They have played 6 games since the World Cup final and have won just three of those matches.
It has almost always been a struggle for Les Bleus during qualification for major competitions and complacency is something they should watch out for when they continue their quest to reach Euro 2020 here.
Les Bleus have some of the World’s best players in every position and that explains why a player of Aymeric Laporte’s quality hasn’t got a cap from them just yet.
Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe should be able to help them get all three points here.
Iceland shocked the world of football when they eliminated England from Euro 2016 and also beat Croatia to place first in their group at the last World Cup qualifying campaign, however, they seem to have lost their element of surprise as of late.
Their recent form ahead of this game doesn’t make for good reading as they have not won any of their last six games post-World Cup. They are also on a run of 12 games without a win in all competitions.
Iceland would be eager to get another surprise run started here, but the secret is out and French fans will be expecting a comfortable win for the home side.
Bookmakers have priced France up as extremely short priced favourites to come out on top in this game while Iceland will start the game with little chance according to oddsmakers.
Goal markets suggest this could be a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.
