Arsenal vs Newcastle United Preview

Arsenal are desperate to end their two season absence from the Champions League this season and they need to win this game to consolidate on their current standing inside the top four.

Following Manchester United’s win over Watford, the Gunners are temporarily outside the top four and need a win here to get back inside.

A win can also move them into 3^rd position in the league table as Tottenham face a big test against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The Gunners have one of the most favourable run-ins among their fellow top four rivals and will not face any top six side this season again so they have to be careful not to slip up against Newcastle here.

Rafa Benitez has turned Newcastle into a solid team in the Premier League on a limited budget and he is set to keep them in the top flight for yet another season.

The Magpies currently have 35 points and are 13^th in the league table which should be enough to keep them up.

They have had a fantastic run of form recently and come here off the back of some thrillers against Bournemouth and Everton.

The Gunners have won 16 of their last 19 competitive games against the Magpies making this a difficult task on paper.

Bookmakers have priced Arsenal up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game.

Goal markets point a lively game as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game followed by Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nkeitah and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
