Ajax Amsterdam vs Juventus Preview

Ajax will be looking to build on defeating Real Madrid in the last round by causing another upset against Juventus in this game.

The Dutch giants have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in this competition this season and it would be wrong to think that this could be the end of the road for them.

They have reclaimed top spot in their domestic league having been in a fine run of form that has seen them net 100 league goals already this season.

They have lost just one of their last ten games in all competitions and come here off the back of a three games winning streak in which they scored at least 3 goals in each game.

Juventus would feel that this is their year to finally banish the ghost of their near misses.  They splashed the cash to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin and the Portuguese star showed in the last round against Atletico Madrid just how big an influence he can be.

Juve haven’t been their most outstanding self in recent games, but they have managed to get the results which is what matters most.

Having opened up a 20 points gap at the top of the Serie A table, they would be keen to make it to the Champions League semifinal here, but Ajax should prove to be tricky opponents for them to face.

Bookmakers have priced Juve up as slight favourites to come out on top however the odds are very close and Ajax will have supporters at a stadium where they are nearly impossible to beat.

Goal markets are expecting a tight game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Cristiano Ronaldo is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
