Manchester United vs Barcelona
Competition – Champions League
Stadium – Old Trafford
Date: 10th April 2019
Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
Manchester United secured one of the results of the century when they overturned a 2-0 first leg loss at home to an aggregate win over PSG in the last round.
The Red Devils’ win over the French champions is arguably the reason why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the Manchester United job on a permanent basis.
Now that everyone knows that they can get results through determination, we expect Barcelona to play them with the utmost respect and for Lionel Messi to put on a show.
The Red Devils suffered a setback in their bid to finish inside the top four last time out as they were beaten 2-1 by Wolves. That result leaves them 6th in the league table with just 6 games left to play.
That was also the second time they were beaten by Wolves in the space of three competitive games so they would be keen to get back to winning ways.
While Manchester United are struggling for a place inside the top four, Barcelona have opened up an 11 points lead over Atletico Madrid at the top of the Spanish league table.
Barca have been in fine form recently and come into this game having won 8 of their last 10 competitive games, so Manchester United should be prepared for an attacking showpiece.
Bookmakers have priced Barcelona up as slight favourites to come out on top in this first leg. Goal markets expect a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Lionel Messi is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
This game gets underway at 20:00 BST and will be broadcast live on BT Sport in the UK. International listings will vary.
