AC Milan vs Lazio Preview

AC Milan vs Lazio

Competition – Coppa Italia

Stadium – Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Date: 24th April 2019

Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT

Milan and Lazio meet in their Coppa Italia semifinal return leg just 11 days after the home side beat them 1-0 in the Serie A and we expect some fireworks at the San Siro for this game.

Milan are currently chasing a top four finish but winning a trophy is something their fans have missed for some time now and they would be hopeful that their team can reach the final here again and potentially win it now that Juventus have been eliminated.

Milan’s form has been inconsistent ahead of this game after they could only pick up a draw in their last game away at Parma.  That draw was the 5th time in six games that they haven’t won a game.

As a matter of fact, their win over Lazio in their last home league game is the only time they have won a match in their last 6 attempts.

Lazio have been one of the teams that have thrived in this competition over the past few seasons.  They were beaten in the 2017 final by Juventus however the Italian champions have been eliminated this season and Lazio would fancy their chances of going all the way.

They are currently struggling to end the season just outside the top four but they come into this game 8th in the league table even though it is just a point that separates them from 6th placed Atalanta.

They were beaten 2-1 at home by Cheivo in their last competitive game and that was the 4th time in their last 5 games that they have failed to win a match.

However, the last time they won an away game was at this stadium against Inter and they would be confident that they can pull off another shocking result.

This is one of the most competitive betting markets of the week as AC Milan are very slight favourites to come out on top however less than a quarter of a point separates these two sides and a rush of cash for Lazio could see them start the game as favourites.

Goal markets expect a low-scoring game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Krysztof Piatek is favourite to score the opening goal of the game closely followed by Ciro Immobile.
