Newcastle United vs Liverpool Preview

Liverpool come into this game looking to banish the disappointment of losing 3-0 at Barcelona on Wednesday.

That loss was one of the most unlucky for them as the Reds were as good as Barca on the night and were only losers because of the many chances that they missed.

Liverpool will have to turn their attention to the Premier League this weekend as they are still very much in the running with just two games left to play.

They take on Newcastle in this game while Manchester City play Leicester City on Monday.

A win for them here would take them 2 points clear of Manchester City who are favourites to beat Leicester on Monday so the title race could still very much be alive on the final day of the season.

Liverpool played well against Barcelona but they were unlucky.  The same level of performance would get them the points against the Magpies in this game, but it could be difficult for them to get themselves out of feeling down after such a blow in Barcelona.

Newcastle have secured their top flight status after yet another season of struggle and they could be looking to make a point in the title race with little to play for.

The Magpies are managed by a former Liverpool boss so it will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Bookmakers have priced Liverpool up as extremely strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game and reclaim top spot in the Premier League table.

Goal markets point to an exciting game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Mohamed Salah is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
