Brazil vs Argentina Preview

Brazil vs Argentina

Competition – Copa America

Stadium – Estadio Mineirão

Date: 2nd July 2019

Kick-off time – 01:30 BST (3rd July)

Brazil face their biggest test in this competition as they look to win the Copa America on home soil in this game.

Argentina have been perennial underachievers in this competition for the past few editions, losing the last two finals to Chile and they will feel that this is their biggest game, although there is still the prospect of meeting Chile in the final.

Argentina were on the brink of elimination after their first two group games but they have recovered well to win their last two games ahead of this match.  They should be reasonably confident of winning this game.

Brazil are looking to end their wait to win their next Copa America and their fans would hope that home advantage could help them finally win their first since 2007.

The absence of Neymar from this competition hasn’t stopped them from being on form and they come here having not lost any games in this competition so far.  It will be interesting to see who comes out tops from this game.

Argentina hasn’t won this competition in 26 years and face a Brazil team that has kept 4 clean sheets from as many games so far.

Bookmakers have priced Brazil up as slight odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while Argentina will start the game as underdogs.

Goal markets point to a low-scoring game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Fernando Gabriel Jesus is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game followed by Lionel Messi and David Neres.
