Ghana and Tunisia face off in one of the Round of 16 games at this year’s African Cup of Nations as both teams bid for glory in Egypt.
Ghana finished top of their group ahead of Cameroon on goal difference. The Black Stars have been one of the more impressive sides in this competition, but goals have been hard to come by for all sides and we could see yet another low-scoring affair here again.
The Ghanaians have scored 4 times and conceded twice so far and it would be interesting to see how they perform against this defencively solid Tunisian side.
Tunisia reached this stage after finishing second in their group behind Mali. Interestingly, the Carthage Eagles haven’t won nor lost any of their games in the competition so far.
Three consecutive draws in the group stage may have been enough to bring them this far however they now have to win a game to reach the quarterfinals and we expect them to be more attacking in this game.
Ghana has been improving steadily as the competition has progressed and they would be looking to build on their win against Guinea-Bissau in their last game however they will need to come up with a better plan than that of Tunisia’s other opponents in order to succeed.
Bookmakers have priced Ghana up as slight favourites to come out on top in this game however the odds are extremely close and this game looks to be one of the tightest of the round.
Goal markets point to another low-scoring game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading long odds-on prior to kick-off while Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew and Wahbi Khazri are all vying for favourtism in the first goalscorer market.
