Brazil vs Chile Preview

Brazil vs Chile

Competition – Copa America Final 2019

Stadium – Estadio do Maracana

Date: 7th July 2019

Kick-off time – 21:00 BST

Brazil is on the brink of ending their wait to win another Copa America and their first since 2007.

Without their star man Neymar, Brazil wasn’t given much of a chance to go all the way in this competition. However, the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Dani Alves and Gabriel Jesus have stepped up and they now have just one match to go.

Brazilian fans haven’t forgotten the humiliation they suffered at the hands of Germany when they hosted the World Cup five years ago and winning this competition would go a long way to appease the home fans after recent failures.

The Brazilians come here in solid form defencively as they haven’t conceded a single goal in the competition so far.  Their fans would expect more of the same but this Peru side has some of the best attackers in the competition.

Peru has been the surprise package of this competition and they come here on the brink of their biggest success as a footballing nation in recent memory.

The Peruvians are a delight to watch when they are on the attack.  They have won just two games in normal time in this competition so far, however, their 3-0 win over Chile in the semifinals was a major statement of intent and they will be looking for vengeance against Brazil in this competition.

The Brazilians had humiliated them with a 5-0 win in their last group game last month and it will be interesting to see if Peru can get revenge or if Brazil will earn more bragging rights here.

Bookmakers have priced Brazil up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while Peru need a miracle according to oddsmakers.
Goal markets point to a tighter game than the first as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Fernando Gabriel Jesus is vying for favourtism in the first goalscorer market.
This game gets underway at 21:00 BST.
