Ivory Coast vs Algeria Preview

Two of the remaining 8 sides in this competition will be looking to book their place in the semifinals when they take on one another here.

Ivory Coast are chasing success with a new generation of players led by some talented lads like Wilfried Zaha and Franck Kessie after the likes of Didier Drogba left the stage.

The Ivorians haven’t done badly so far as they have only lost one match which was in the group stage against the Atlas Lions of Morocco.  They come here after eliminating Mali in a closely fought 1-0 win in the Round of 16 and they won’t mind a similar score line in this game.

Algeria remain the only team who hasn’t tasted defeat and has won all of their games in this competition so far.  They will be looking to keep their 100 percent record all the way through to the final.

They started the competition with victory but they seem to have improved as the competition has progressed, winning their last 2 games by a 3-0 score.

Algeria would be keen to exploit the weaknesses that Morocco may have found in the Ivorians’ game and put them to the sword here.

Bookmakers have priced Algeria up as slight favourites to come out on top in this game while Ivory Coast will start the game as underdogs.
