Liverpool vs Norwich City Preview

Liverpool vs Norwich City

Competition – Barclays Premier League

Stadium – Anfield

Date: 9th August 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

After falling agonizingly short of winning the Premier League last season and going on to win the Champions League, Liverpool will be looking to continue winning more trophies this season and a good start to the season would be a huge morale booster.

The Reds lost the Community Shield to Manchester City on Sunday, but that loss had more to do with hard luck and their failure to be clinical in front of goal.  They were the better team for the whole of the second half and should have killed City off.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Alisson had just a week of training before that game so they should be better prepared for this one.  Sadio Mane will also be returning for this game and that should make the Reds even more dangerous.

Norwich were by far the best team in the Championship last season as Daniel Farke built a team that plays high intensity attacking football much like the one that has been implemented by Klopp at Liverpool.

Norwich have kept the core of the team that earned them promotion and the likes of Teemu Pukki will be eager to take his chance and show the world what the buzz around him is about.

Liverpool and Norwich should serve us some high-octane attacking football in this game and that could mean a couple of goals at both ends of the pitch.

Bookmakers have priced Liverpool up as extremely strong odds-on favourites to kick-off their 2019-2020 Premier League season with a win while Norwich need a miniature miracle according to oddsmakers.

Goal markets point to a high-scoring game as 2.5 goals is trading long odds-on prior to kick-off while Mohamed Salah is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
