West Ham United vs Manchester City Preview

Manchester City will be returning to the London Stadium that seems to have become their second home after the Etihad since West Ham moved there.  The Cityzens have won their last seven games against the Hammers and have lost just one of their last 11 games against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

City have won against West Ham by either 4-0, 4-1, or 5-0 in their last 4 visits to this venue and fans expect them to run riot here again as they begin their title defence.

Pep Guardiola’s side won all the domestic trophies last season and they started this campaign by beating Liverpool in the Community Shield last Sundsay.  They will be looking for more of the same this season, with success in Europe their ultimate goal for the season.

West Ham haven’t been shy of spending money to land their key targets this summer and they will be banking on 45 million pound Sebastien Haller as well as Pablo Fornals to help them break inside the top 6 at the end of this season.

Oddsmakers expect lots of goals in this game as both teams seem to favour attacking football and that could leave spaces behind for the other to exploit.

Bookmakers have priced Man City up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while goal markets point to an extremely lively game as over 2.5 goals is trading long odds-on prior to kick-off.

Sergio Aguero is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
