Manchester United vs Chelsea Preview

Manchester United and Chelsea will go head to head in what is the first big clash of the new Premier League season and both teams would be keen to get their season started on the right foot.

Manchester United have had a busy summer as they welcomed a couple of big-name signings like Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.  They also lost Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian got his wish to join Inter Milan.

If new seasons can be judged by pre-season performances then Manchester United are set to have a wonderful season, and their performance in this game could go a long way to show how prepared they are for the new challenge.

Chelsea have had to deal with a transfer ban imposed on them, but the Blues can thank their lucky stars as their band of loan armies have come to their rescue.

Just like Manchester United, they have a manager who is sort of a newbie and has a point to prove.  Frank Lampard did great at Derby County last season, but this job is a major step up for him.

With the likes of Christian Pulisic leading the attack and Jorginho adapting well to his new role in midfield, the Blues look like an exciting team to watch on paper, but this game should show how true that is.

Bookmakers have priced Mahchester United up as steady favourites to come out on top in this game however the odds are tight and Chelsea are in with a real shout of ruining Manchester United’s opening game.

Goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on prior to kick-off while Marcus Rashford is favourite to score the opening goal of the game closely followed by Tammy Abraham.
